In Kortrijk, you can take advantage of various insulation and renovation grants, such as the urban improvement grant for owner-occupiers with a limited income, which covers up to a third of the invoice, and the Flemish My Renovation Grant, which applies to roof insulation and asbestos removal from July 2025. In addition, there is an overarching renovation grant ranging from €20 to €30% for roof work starting at €2,500. A reduced VAT rate of €6% also applies to homes older than 10 years built by certified contractors. An environmental permit or notification is required for most roofing work in Kortrijk, for example, when installing skylights, modifying the roof structure, or replacing roofing. Some minor work is exempt, but this depends on the regulations and the type of work.
